Table of Contents Revision

For the table of contents, I didn't want it to change all that much, since I really like the overall aesthetics of it. The elements I changed are very simple, but it seemed to make quite the difference, in my own opinion. I decided that September instead of winter suited my magazine better because I don't have a whole lot of pages. Most magazines that release a new issue by season are thick and very full of content, but mine is not even over 150-pages, hence I believe that it should truly be monthly. Then, I made the color of the magazine title brighter in order for it to match the cover photo title color, simply to coordinate and heighten the overall coordination of the magazine. Then, I took out the small, red banner on the side because i felt that it might've been much for the page itself already. Plus, there was no red in my cover photo, so i removed it also to coordinate colors eloquently. I also changed the font for the heading of each section of the magazine because it felt awkward for it to all be low case in an extremely contrasted font from the rest. I also fixed the page number to make it slightly more appealing to see. I also changed some of the wording for it to flow better and justified each column to make it prettier to see. Lastly, I made the photo slightly warmer in color -- yellowish -- in the name of color coordination. It looked awkward that the cover photo had the natural sunlight and for the titles to be yellow/gold and the photo's color was cool; it didn't seem right, so i changed it.

Behind the Scenes (Article)

I didn't get much photos of me taking the photos to show production because the person I called over did not arrive in time and it was salient for us to be finished by 10, hence here are two pictures of me taking a picture during one part of the photo shoot.

Project Selection - Magazine

Print journalism is an easy choice to make; but, the production of the magazine itself can be easily overwhelming, but vibrant and aesthetically pleasing in the end. Print journalism screams the expression of a brand; it defines the brand itself. I've made a cover page of a magazine before and it actually turned out great, so print media might be a good choice -- considering that I have a little background knowledge. Based on the elements I learned from my class -- AICE Media Studies -- the magazine analysis and the blog samples did wonders in outlining my process. I saw what a magazine could look like, which is simple and not too overwhelming with vibrant colors or bold text designs. Other blog posts concerning magazine showed me what the blog should look like, what to do, and what not do. I like to consider myself to be an artistic person, I like my ideas to be aesthetically pleasing, and I'm pretty much extra in a lot of aspects of my art. So, considering my artistic capabil...

Table of Contents (Option 1)

This is my first draft on my table of contents. I have another idea for the table of contents, so that's coming up next. This idea came from Porter magazine. I really like it as it's simple and striking at the same time. This is what it's most likely going to look like, but the magazine has section titles and I might add it later on during the process because it separates different articles and ideas within the magazine. I might also add a little color to the section titles if I choose to do it because a plain table of contents doesn't give aesthetics. I'm thinking for the magazine title to also be colored, so it doesn't look bland. Most magazines I saw only had a single color and it seemed bland to me, which I didn't really like.
