Creative Critical Reflection Prezi

Last Tuesday, 3/22/18, I presented my Third Quarter Submission for my fashion magazine. Based on the critiques I acquired from my peers, evaluating the layout of my magazine, I got some minor revisions to do before my final submission. My cover looks fine, except for the words in the corner because it's kind of hard to see with the white text over the white corner, so I'm going to have to darken it a little bit or add some shadowing to make the words more apparent. Also, I had the idea of the darker outline in my table of contents title and I might just revert it back to just a similar color as the rest of the title because it kind of looked distracting after I presented it. Lastly, I just need to fix the page numbers on my article pages because it looked wrong with both page numbers in the same side when I should've looked at it in the context of it being an actual page of a magazine. This is my submission for the third quarter. My magazine is now a September (fall) fashion magazine for 2017. For the article featured in my magazine, I asked an aspiring model who shared her thoughts on the beauty standards of most fashion magazines. This is my cover page for my September issue fashion magazine. I chose harmonic and contrasting colors to make up the entire aesthetics of the cover. I chose a vibrant, gold color for my title because that's one the colors that really stands out even in my audience's peripheral vision. I also chose for the model to wear blue because it coordinates very well to my Table of Contents page and it goes very well with green and yellow. The whole cover photo is minimal because I don't like the overcrowded layout like some magazines share. I feel as if those magazines are overwhelming and overdone. I did, although, placed some accessories on the model to make up for the minimal look, enough so that it doesn't look overdone. ...

For this project, I utilized different technologies to produce my magazine and my templates, etc. I was able to use a camera, Canon Rebel T6, in order to take photos for my magazine because they're better in capturing photos despite the lighting provided. Since I wanted to take better photos, I had to use the camera in my advantage, but I wasn't sure how to use it because I've never used a camera before. So, I watched different videos from YouTube in order to somewhat master the indicated setting I needed to take the photos. Before the camera, I used an iPhone 7 in order to take photos because I didn't asked for a camera form my teacher sooner. The phone camera was a lot easier to handle than an actual camera, but it was fine because the quality of the photo still stands. Before I made my cover page, table of contents page, and article pages, I had to research a lot about the different magazines and movies out there. In order to really focus on which type of media we wanted to do our project on, we had to watch different movies and look at different magazines and studied the different conventions that each type of media used to make the product successful. Out of all the magazines and movies that I researched, I had finally decided that a magazine was what I intended to do from the beginning because it would really showcase my artistic abilities and photo taking skills. All I had to do was figure out the genre of magazine that I wanted to do, so I conducted more research and see which genre best suited me. My product, according to my vision, would advocate for those people whose do not have a say in society's beauty standards. My product is also relatable to everyone else who feel as if society is not on their side because they're not exactly portrayed by the media as beautiful or "model material." Through the goals I have in mind in producing such a product that could make a difference and or an impact in the fashion industry is extremely engaging to me. Every issue will call for people in today's world who have the potential and confidence to become the next big thing because character is what drives this magazine to strive for success.
